Compassion Outreach

Compassion Outreach is a ministry of Journey Fellowship Church.

Our mission is "Helping Hurting People".

Through Compassion we seek to bring the Hope of the Gospel to the "least of these" to use the Words of Christ.

In Matthew 25 Jesus taught us to, feed the hungry, clothe the naked and visit the sick and imprisoned because if we do that to the "least of these" then we do it unto Him.

There are several ways to get connected with the CO vision:

1. Monthly Weekend Trips

Through our partnership with The New Orleans Rescue Mission we serve hundreds of homeless people every day. We will send a teams to serve at The New Orleans Rescue Mission. The purpose of this event is to help hurting people. We stay overnight at the Compassion House, located next to the Mission. We will serve meals, clean the facility, conduct a street outreach and share our faith. The team will return home on Saturday night.

The cost for each outreach is $30/person which covers transportation, meals and a Compassion T-shirt. You can sign up for the August event this Sunday morning at Journey or contact Jacob Debram at 985-285-0004 or jdebram@compassionoutreach.org

2. Food for Families

During these tough economic times some families need a little help with food. At Compassion we want everyone to have enough to eat. We provide a box of groceries to families in need. If you'd like to serve in this ministry or if you know someone in need of food please contact Jacob Debram at 985-285-0004 jdebram@compassionoutreach.org

3. Special Events

CO leads special events throughout the year to reach out to hurting people. We focus on the major holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fathers Day and Mothers Day.
